Welcome
Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Boekhout and I have been teaching at Central Lyon since 1995. I taught 1st grade for four years and have been teaching Kindergarten ever since. I truly love my career and the children I am blessed with each year. Most five and six year olds are very eager to learn and please, which makes it so enjoyable to teach them. I want families to know that their child is valued, encouraged, and loved in my classroom. I want the children to feel that our learning environment is positive, happy, and safe.
We also have a Foster Grandma in our room who is dearly appreciated and loved. She is with us every day from 8 - 12 and is so good at helping out in all the "little" ways. She knows how to encourage the children with their work, keep them on task, and share a hug whenever needed. Grandma is a very quiet, but treasured presence in our classroom.
