Student Handbook Updates

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year. We are looking forward to the upcoming school year. At the end of each school year, student handbooks are reviewed and revised. I need to update you on a couple of revisions. A copy of the handbook can be picked up in my office or can be found on the Parent Information tab. If you have questions or concerns, please call me at 712-472-4051.

Lunch account information is available on the new Central Lyon website listed above. You will need to know your password to have access to your child's account information. Please see Cindy DeWandel or Jessica Harman for more information about a password.

Students will need to remember their JMC account code number. This was a new feature added last year replacing the card swipe method. All students have a three or four digit code number to enter into a keypad system. All lunch accounts are considered family accounts in the high school. you do not need to deposit money into each child's account. All money received goes into a family account. high school accounts are separate from the Elementary/Middle School accounts.

Students are required to keep a positive balance in their account. When their account is getting low, a reminder slip will be sent home when the account is below two dollars. When family accounts show a -$10.00 or more balance, a sack lunch will be provided. Students will not be able to eat regular hot lunch when their accounts show a negative balance of $10.00 or more. The principal will notify parents when the account becomes delinquent.

Scholarship rule addition. If at the end of any grading period a student receives a failing grade in any course, they will become ineligible for the next 30 consecutive days.
