If the Walls Could Speak
It is human nature to surround oneself with items that represent one's unique heritage and experiences. Teachers can work to ensure that their classrooms reflect the rich diversity of both their students and the world.
Students were given the assignment of creating a bulletin board representing diverse sets of people and cultures. They could choose a particular person who has made his/her mark in history, or they could choose a different culture.
Helen Keller, Barack Obama, Cultural Diversity, and a tribe in Africa were the topics included in this project. The students did a great job.
