Pajama Party!
The first grade Pajama Party!
They did it! The first graders voted on one thing they would like to do if they filled our class Pebble Jar and that was a class Pajama Party. The class Pebble Jar can only be added to when the kids are caught demonstrating good character and following the classroom rules. The class worked very hard to fill the jar to the top!
The Pajama Day was celebrated on Friday, December 16th. Our entire day had a Pajama/Sleep over theme. The kids were allowed to "sleep" until they heard rhyming words. The first graders had a chance to hear the story Practically Perfect Pajamas, it was about a polar bear who was made fun of for wearing his perfect pajamas. Following the read aloud, we engaged in a writing assignment. The first graders were to write about their practically perfect pajamas! We had some teddy bear Math, and ended the day with a Science video.
These special days allow the first graders to get a chance to see how their everyday lives can become integrated into reading and writing.
