Accounting Job Shadow Experience
May Term Students Learn Quickbooks
Job experience is highly valued, yet sometimes difficult to secure. A local accounting firm, DeNoble & Company PC, offered May term accounting students a chance to use their newly acquired skills with the software program Quickbooks. In addition to their assignments in the automated accounting May term class, Karmen Vogt and Allen Stillsen job-shadowed several accountants in the firm over a two week period. Here's what the students had to say about their experience:
"It was a great experience! I had fun working with people I knew. It applied everything I had learned in my accounting classes and gave me a new perspective on the accounting field."
"I enjoyed work study at DeNoble because it allowed me to see how what we learned in accounting class was used and entered in the computers at the accounting firm. We worked on payroll and Iowa tax returns."
Thanks to Dave DeNoble and his staff for providing these students with a beneficial experience!
