Inclement Weather NOTICE

Early Dismissal & School Closing Procedure

If school will be closed, starting late, or dismissing early due to inclement weather, an announcement will be broadcast on the following radio and TV stations: 

Radio: KQAD, 101.1 FM/800 AM - Luverne
KIWA, 105.3 FM/1550 AM - Sheldon
Results Radio, HOT 104.7 FM,

KXRB 1000 AM, KIKN 100.5 FM,
MIX 97.3 FM, KSOO 1140 AM, B102.7

When a decision to start classes 2 hours late is announced, continue to monitor the radio/TV stations. The decision to cancel school will be made by 9:00 a.m. if weather/road conditions do not improve. In the event of an early dismissal, the radio/TV stations will be contacted at least one hour prior to the closing.

NOTE: Many radio and TV stations not on our inclement weather list have subscribed to receive the Central Lyon snowcap messages and have chosen to announce the Central Lyon information when they receive it. If the snowcap computer system is not working, Central Lyon will contact ONLY the TV and Radio stations listed above.


SNOWCAP




Central Lyon subscribes to SNOWCAP, a service that will send a text message or e-mail informing registrants of any cancellation, late start, or early out. 

To take advantage of this service, register your e-mail or cell phone number at the website www.snowcaponline.net.

Choose "school" and select Central Lyon from the pull down menu and follow directions from there. You'll get a confirmation message almost immediately.
