Hello!
My name is Jan Meester, and I have taught at Central Lyon since 1984. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa ...MANY years ago... and my current teaching duties include English I and English II , year-long classes that include studying grammar, literature, novels, and drama.
I also teach Spanish I and exploratory Spanish. In addition to learning the language, the students take cultural tours through Spanish-speaking countries.
So Many Opportunities...Get Involved!!!
The freshmen have made a smooth transition to high school and are coping well with the "big kid" changes. I hope every freshman will get involved with at least ONE extracurricular activity this year. Students who get involved enjoy school more and feel a sense of accomplishment. Please encourage your child to explore the many clubs and activities available at Central Lyon. Teachers can help them find an activity that fits into their interest and schedule. GO LIONS!!!
