On March 12, 1985
there came a new addition to parents, LaMont and Marla. The
new baby girl was named Leah, and brother her Micah and sister her
Mandie were happy as well!
When Leah entered high school, she jumped right into all the activities she could. She has participated in volleyball, basketball, bowling, international club, band, choir, and was a basketball cheerleader for one year. Leah also participates in track and was district champion and a state qualifier in discus her sophomore year. Leah also participates in drag racing, which could be why she won best of class for best car. Leah also participates in other actives outside the school, activities such as 4-H for seven years and she is a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Leah also has a long list of favorites. Her favorite movies are Happy Gilmore and Days of Thunder, and her favorite TV shows are “Drew Carey” and “Days of our Lives.” Her favorite colors are green and purple her favorite food is mushroom and cheese pizza, and her dream car is a midnight blue Dodge Viper, but most of all Leah LOVES the Chicago Bears.
If Leah could change anything about Central Lyon she would give open campus to junior and seniors all year. One of Leah’s most memorable moments at Central Lyon was hanging out at the Pizza Ranch before the FFA dance her freshman year.
In the future Leah sees herself attending Minnesota State University and majoring in business management. Later in life she sees herself owning and managing one or more restaurants and married starting a family.
Leah’s words of wisdom to the underclassmen are, “Be yourself, and don’t try being someone you are not; it should not matter what other people think of you.” I want to be the first to wish Leah good luck!
