Abby Jean P. was born on October 23, 1990. Abby’s parents are
Glenn and Rhonda P., and she has one brother, Alex.
On her farm Abby also has two dogs, Emma and Dora. In high school, Abby has been active in volleyball, basketball and wrestling manager, track, softball, band, jazz band, state band solos, International Club, speech, TATU, and TAP. She is also involved in RCYF at Doon First Reformed, Bible Sunday School, 4-H, and County Council Representative. Abby has a very busy academic year ahead of her with psychology, band, work study, Spanish IV, single survival, government, accounting, grammar, social psychology, and foundations of education. Abby is also on National Honor Society. She was also voted Best Personality in the senior class.
In her spare time, Abby likes watching the movie “The Notebook,” and the TV show “John and Kate Plus 8.” “The Guardian” is her favorite book. Some other favorites include the color purple, the classes single survival, band, and work study, country music, and Chinese food. She also works at the Corner Café in Doon and Rock Rapids Kids Club.
Abby’s most memorable high school moment was going to state football and state wrestling with her friends.
In the future Abby plans on attending SDSU and DSU for elementary and special education. She sees herself having a great job and married with a family.
If Abby could spend a day with someone living or dead, she would spend it with her cousin Jaime Koedam because he died when she was four, but he was like her big brother. Her words of wisdom for the underclassman are, “Be your own person, don’t let other people influence who you are. Make these the best four years of your life.”
