DeVry University's* CareerShop is an interactive multimedia workshop that links personality assessment with careers.  High School Program Representative Daneen Landis presented this workshop to two business classes, marketing and web page, on March 10.  Senior students from natural resources and choir were also given the opportunity to attend.

Students used electronic hand-held devices (PDAs) to take an abbreviated version on the Myers-Briggs personality test and to create a personal avatar.  Once a student's personality was determined, the presentation matched careers that can be best suited to that personality type.  This gave students a starting point for their career and college search.  The presentation was not over when Daneen left...all information covered, including the personality profiles, are stored on a website for the students to access anytime using their unique passwords.  Passwords will be emailed directly to each student. Results of the student answers to several career planning questions were emailed to Mrs. Snyders and guidance counselor Mrs. Harman for use in follow-up with students.
