Amber Kay B. was born on July 14, 1987, to parents Ron and Sue
Boogerd. She has a brother Jeremy who is 23. Amber is
involved in many activities at Central Lyon. She participates
in volleyball, track, dance team, international club, basketball,
softball, flag corps, and mentoring. The classes that she is
taking this year are band, social psychology, work study with Mrs.
Van’s class, grammar, today’s family, accounting, p.e., government,
single survival, and psychology. Amber’s most memorable high
school moment is going to state track her sophomore year.
Outside of school, Amber is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran
Church and is Luther League vice president.
Amber has many favorites. Some of them include the movies Empire Records and A Lot Like Love, the color yellow, the book The Notebook, Chinese food, The Amazing Race, and any of Mrs. Sheldon’s classes.
Her future plans include going to a four-year school for teaching lower elementary or having a career that involves children. In ten years, Amber sees herself graduated from college, working at a job she likes, and with a couple of kids. Amber’s advice to the underclassmen is, “If at first you don’t succeed, ask a girl for help!”
