    On December 27, 1988, Jerry and Elaine Birkey brought their first wonderful child into the world, Allison Joy. Her brother Drew then followed Allison. There family also has two dogs, Bailey and Mandy.
    During Allison’s high school career, she has been involved in many activities. They include band for four years, track and basketball for two years, volleyball for four years, international club for two years, choir for three years, jazz choir for two years, and swing choir for two years.
    Some of the classes Allison is taking are band, choir, today’s family, government, speech, health, homes by design, single survival, and basic writing.
    Allison has been on the honor roll, lettered in volleyball and track, and she received best hair, best eyes, and most gullible for best of class.
    Outside of high school, Allison attends the United Methodist Church and UMYF. She is the treasurer of their youth group. She is also employed at Lyon Manor as a CNA.
       Allison has many favorites some of which include: The Notebook, country, rap, rock, pink, blue, Nicolas Spark’s books, pizza, peanut butter and jelly, Mrs. Sheldon’s classes, Grey’s Anatomy, Laguna Beach, Patriots, and Hawkeyes.
    Allison’s future plans are to attend USD in Vermillion for nursing. In ten years, Allison see herself married, with a stable nursing job, a few kids, and living around Rock Rapids.
    Allison’s most memorable high school moment was all the late nights during homecoming week trying to figure out outfits and pulling all nighters on Thursdays getting ready for purple and gold day.
    If Allison could spend one day with someone, she would pick her great-great grandma she knew until she was five or six. She would like to spend more time with her and get to know her better.
    Allison’s words of wisdom are take every moment for granted because the years fly by.
