On October 11, 1988, Kae and Wade Jepsen were blessed with Wesley Jepsen, their first and only boy. Wes is the youngest child, behind his two older sisters, Amy and Amanda. He also has a Golden Retriever named Rocky.
Wes has been active in various activities in his high school career. As an athlete, he has been involved in football, wrestling, and track. He lettered in football and track. On his academic side, he has been involved in academic decathlon, quiz bowl, international club, and multiple plays and musicals. His schedule this year consists of physics, Novel II, grammar, computer aided drafting, Art I, sociology, work study, single survival, and government. He is also a member of the Peace Lutheran Church.
Wes loves to watch comedies, and his favorite comedy movie is Anchorman while his favorite TV show is That 70’s Show. He has no preference when it comes to music. His favorite color is yellow, and his favorite food is steak. He loves the book Eragon and anxiously awaits its arrival in theaters. His favorite subjects are sociology and government.
In the future, Wes plans to attend college to be a teacher, and hopes to teach until retirement.
His most memorable high school moment is defeating West Lyon for the district championship in his sophomore year. He loved the thrill of victory, especially winning over our long-time school rival.
If Wes could spend a day with anyone at all, living or dead, he would spend it with his great grandpa because he never had a chance to meet him. His great grandpa was a World War II veteran, and he would have loved to hear his stories.
His words of wisdom to underclassmen are, “Be true to yourself, and have fun doing so!”
