Brittany Klinkenborg was born on December 13, 1989, to Tom and
Audra Klinkenborg. She is an only child. To keep her company,
Brittany has two pets: her dog Paige and her cat Furball.
Brittany has always maintained a busy schedule throughout high school. In athletics, she has been in volleyball, basketball, and track for four years each. She has been no strangers to fine arts, either. Brittany is a four-year member of band, a two-year member of jazz band, and a three-year member of choir. In band she has been in the flag corps and has played various solos and ensembles. In choir she has been in swing choir, jazz choir, and women’s jazz choir. Brittany is also a four-year member of mock trial and a one-year member of individual speech. Brittany is a member in TAP, international club, and National Honor Society. Brittany is the NHS president and has also served as the president and vice president of the class of 2008.
Outside of school, Brittany doesn’t sit around. She is a member of First Reformed Church, where she attends Senior RCYF and Sunday school. At church she is also a member of the praise team, and on various Sundays she does the PowerPoint. Brittany has also previously worked at Sunshine Foods.
Brittany’s senior schedule is no walk in the park. She is taking calculus, government, band, grammar, child development, choir, psychology, homes by design, social psychology, and work study with Mrs. Boekhout.
Among her favorites include the High School Musical movies and almost any other Disney movie, music by Casting Crowns and Matthew West, the color “orange,” the Harry Potter series, the TV show One Tree Hill, and almost anything Disney. Brittany’s favorite subject is homes by design and her favorite food is Fuddrucker’s fries.
In the future Brittany plans to attend Northwestern College in Orange City for four years. She also hopes to find a good job, get married, have more than one child, and live a happy, fulfilled life with many great experiences. In ten years Brittany says she will be “wherever life takes me.”
In high school Brittany has also been on the high honor roll, and she was named first-team all-conference in basketball and declared an outstanding witness in mock trial. Brittany’s most memorable high school moments include her junior basketball season and the after-prom of junior year.
If she could spend one day with anyone, Brittany would choose her aunt Donna, who passed away from cancer. Brittany would love for her aunt to see everything Brittany has done in her life and meet the new people in her life. Lastly, Brittany offers these words to the underclassmen: “Just enjoy high school and be yourself.”
