Nate Leuthold was born May 22, 1990, to parents Ken and ReNae. Nate’s younger brother’s name is Jason and his little sister’s name is McKenzie. He has several cats as well as a young dog named Abby.
High school has been a busy time for Nate, as he has participated in track, cross country, plays, musicals, large group speech, quiz bowl, band, jazz band, choir, jazz choir, international club, and National Honor Society. Outside of school activities, Nate has participated in 4-H, RCYF, TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) retreats, and soccer. He was club treasurer in 4-H and both a player and coach in soccer.
Nate’s senior schedule is far from easy. His classes include band, calculus, government, physics, grammar, Spanish IV, choir, and journalism. Nate has been on the high honor roll all four years and was inducted into the National Honor Society during his junior year.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is Nate’s favorite movie, and The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is his favorite book. If Nate could spend a day with anyone, he would choose Robert Jordan. Nate really loves his style of writing and would like to listen to him explain how he does it. Some of Nate’s others favorites include Christian rock music and the color turquois. His favorite food is any kind of chicken, and English is his favorite school subject. He also likes the TV show Heroes, and his favorite animals are the poison-dart frog and the bottle nosed dolphin.
In the future Nate plans to attend a four year college. He is strongly considering the University of Sioux Falls and also Northwestern College in Orange City. He has not decided a major yet. Also in the future Nate would like to get married and have a family.
Nate can’t quite narrow down his favorite moment in high school, and so he says it is the entire Florida trip. For words of wisdom to the underclassmen, Nate bluntly states “Don’t slack off!”
