On February 6, 1990, Steve and Kathy Wallenburg were blessed with their first child Melissa. She was later joined by her brother Sean. Also a part of their family are their dog Belle and cats Sassy and Cami.
During Melissa’s high school career she has been involved in band, chorus, flag corps, football manager, and Jazz Band I. Her class schedule includes band, grammar, work study at Premier Estates and in Mrs. Boekout’s kindergarten class, government, business law, health, single survival, and speech. Outside of school she has been an LYC youth group president and CNA at Lyon Manor.
When it comes to Melissa’s favorites she has many of them; her favorite movie is Sixteen Candles, and her favorite music is country or rock. She enjoys reading The Pact and My Sister’s Keeper by Jody Piccult. She likes to eat orange chicken from bamboo garden, the color pink and watching the TV show The Hills. Her favorite classes are anything with Mrs. Sheldon
When it comes to Melissa’s future plans, she is going to college for nursing and in ten years she hopes to see herself married, working in a hospital, and maybe having kids.
If Melissa could spend the day with anyone, she said she would choose to spend it with BAM Margera, because hanging out with him would be crazy and fun.
Melissa’s most memorable moments at Central Lyon are going to state football in 2006 and 2007. Her words of wisdom to the underclassmen are, “Work your hardest your first three years of high school so you can slack off your senior year.”
