Odysseyware

by Curt Busch

Odysseyware is a new online-based curriculum offered to students at Central Lyon.  This program recognizes that every student is unique.  Some students excel in a traditional eight period day type schedule.  However, not all students fit into this type of setting. Traditional eight period days are not the best learning environments for all students with different learning styles.  Odysseyware offers multiple learning opportunities for at-risk learners, regular education students and advanced learners.

Odysseyware was purchased this year to meet a variety of needs for Central Lyon students.  The program can be used for students who have fallen behind in credits to receive an alternative diploma.  The program can be used for a student who has exhausted the electives in our current course offerings.  In addition, Odysseyware offers a challenge for advanced placement learners.  Odysseyware is available to the student twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.  Depending on the ambition of the learner to excel the program offers many opportunities for students to learn in a special way.

Odysseyware is currently being used in over 1,500 school districts nationwide.  The program includes multiple required and elective classes for students to choose from. According to CEO, Kevin Youngblood, "as technology continues to change, Odysseyware is committed to leading the online education industry with a dynamic and engaging curriculum that provides an enriching and enjoyable education experience."
