Cordell and Rochelle DeBoer were blessed with their youngest child, Alyssa Nicole DeBoer, on May 14, 1992. She also has two older brothers, Tim and Nate.
During her high school career, Alyssa has been very busy with academics. She is involved in TATU, International Club, and FFA. She also has been in choir and golf for four years.
Her senior year consists of chemistry, Algebra 2, college speech, work study in the Early Childhood room, grammar, basic writing, and psychology. However, child development is her favorite class.
Outside of school, Alyssa works at Kid’s Club. She is also involved in RCYF at Bethel Reformed Church.
Alyssa enjoys reading the “Twilight” saga and watching “Sixteen & Pregnant” and “What Not to Wear.” Her favorite foods are tacos and pizza. She enjoys country and pop music and the color pink. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends, babysitting, and watching “A Walk to Remember.” Her favorite high school memory was going to Florida her junior year with all over her friends and classmates.
When asked to state words of wisdom to the underclassmen, Alyssa said, “Never stop trying, study as much as possible, and have as much fun as you can. High school is only as fun as you make it.” If Alyssa could spend the day with anyone, she would spend it with her grandpa because she would have loved to meet him.
Alyssa’s plan for the future includes going to SMSU in Marshall, Minnesota, for early childhood education and special ed. In ten years she sees herself married with kids and pursuing a career in childcare. Good luck in the future, Alyssa!
