Biology

Metaphase Middle: learning about Mitosis.

During Biology we cover a lot of fun and exciting information.  We start off with why we all have to take this class.  Not everyone is a lover of biology so I always let them know that I really want them to learn how to think.  Using scientific methodolgy will help them anytime they find themselves in a new situation.  It is very important to me to help the students be successful in everyday situations.

As usual, most students look forward to the dissecting unit. This year we will dissect starfish and sharks.  Sharks smell very bad but the organs are huge so I like to use them each year.  This is always a lot of fun.

We will cover many more topics and do several hands on projects throughout the year.  It is my hope that at the end of the year everyone will be glad that this is a required class.
