Kate Timmer, daughter of Scott and Michelle Timmer, was born on April 15, 1996. At home she has an English Mastiff named Deuce, and enjoys eating pizza rolls and beef jerky. Her favorite movie is “Pitch Perfect” and her favorite book is “Night” by Elie Weisel. Anyone can see that she loves the color pink. In her spare time, Kate likes to watch the “Jimmy Fallon Show.”  If she could spend one day with anyone she wanted, it would be her aunt Gwen, who passed away in February, because she misses and loves her very much.

Throughout high school, Kate has been in many sports and activities. Her freshman year, she participated in volleyball, wrestling cheerleading, track, and solo competitions. Sophomore year she was involved in musicals, as well as solo competitions, golf, and wrestling cheerleading. Junior year for Kate was filled with musicals, all state choir, jazz choir, and solo competitions.  She has received many honorary medals for musical and drama participation. Currently, she is taking economics, choir, accounting, calculus, government, Novel I, and English III online.

Kate is planning to graduate at semester and begin her double major in Accounting and Business Administration at Southeast Technical Institute in January.  After two years, she plans to transfer to the University of Sioux Falls and earn her Bachelor’s Degree. In ten years, Kate sees herself as the manager or accountant for a successful business.

Kate’s advice to underclassmen is to get involved and try everything because nobody wants to live a life of “what if’s.”
