Today we invited Mrs. Boekhout's Kindergarten class in to our classroom for a Fun Friday activity that went with the book, "If You Take A Mouse To School" by Laura Numeroff.  I introduced Owen, who resembles the mouse character in the book, and shared that he showed up in our classroom this morning with the story and a special letter.  After reading the book and helping the children make several connections to it, I read the letter from Owen.  He said he was sending us on an adventure through the school to see new and familiar places and faces and that he left a fun activity for us to do when we returned.  As we were getting ready in the hallway, we realized that Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Rypkema's Kindergarten classrooms were going on the exact same adventure!  We looked for Owen's picture around school as a clue and as you will see in our slideshow we even ran into some of our students' parents and grandparents who work at school.  When we returned to our classroom, we enjoyed our milk and snack and then invited Mrs. Boekhout's class to join us for Freeplay in our room.  We had so much fun sharing our toys with our new friends.  Mrs. Boekhout said she would invite us to come to her classroom sometime soon for another Fun Friday activity.
