From basketball to FFA to the musical, you’ll find very few students who have a schedule as diverse as Kenzie Leuthold’s. Kenzie participates in a wide range of activities, including sports (basketball, volleyball, and softball), drama (small group speech, the May term play, and fall musical), band (including jazz band), church (RCYF and vacation bible school leader), and various clubs (FFA, International Club, TATU).
Kenzie’s senior classes continue to show just how diverse she is, with classes in economics, human anatomy and physiology, consumer/business math, college composition, ag business, single survival, psychology, Novel 1, and government.
“The Other Guys,” “The Big Bang Theory”, and mint green or coral make up Kenzie’s respective favorite movie, TV show, and colors. Kenzie also enjoys listening to Christian, hip hop, pop, and country music.
Since one of her favorite styles of music is country, it should be no surprise that if she could spend one day with anyone, it would be country singer Luke Bryan.
Other important people in Kenzie’s life include her parents, Kenny and ReNae, and her brothers, Nate and Jason.
Next year, Kenzie plans to attend Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls for electronuerodiagnosis technology. In ten years, she hopes to be working a stable job, married, and having started a family. Kenzie hopes to live close to Rock Rapids so that her children will be able to know and have a relationship with their grandparents.
As Kenzie prepares for her future, she gives this advice to the underclassmen: “You are somebody. You are you. Like being you. And you don’t need anybody to make you somebody.”
