Travis Vander Streek was born on October 3, 1996, to his parents Henry and Jayna Vander Streek. He has four other siblings: Colton, Cody, Tim, and Krista.
Travis could be described as a ‘hands on’ kind of guy. He is actively involved in wrestling, football, and has been the FFA Vice President for three years. During school hours, Travis bounces between work study, health, Metal Fab II, college composition, economics, and government. His interests vary across the board. Travis’s favorite movie is “American Sniper,” he really enjoys reading “Of Mice and Men,” and enjoys watching a couple episodes of “Big Bang Theory.”
In the near future Travis hopes to attend either South Dakota State University or Southern Minnesota State University for animal science. Later in life he hopes to own an acreage and help raise a family. When Travis looks back on his high school career he remembers placing fifth at state wrestling the most. His words of wisdom for underclassmen would be, “Get involved in extracurricular activities. You won’t regret it.”
