The assembly speaker Joel Penton spoke with humor while teaching that committment means doing what you say you are going to do. His relevant approach to teen issues focuses on the POSITIVE results of good decisions. Joel proves thorugh his own personal stories of triumph that ordinary people can accomplish great things by simply making the right choices.

Because of his committment to hard work and making good choices, Joel Penton was was a member of a National Championship team and four time Academic All Big-Ten selection. In his senior year, Joel received the prestigious Danny Wuerffel (Wore-full) Trophy, also known as the Humanitarian Heisman. The Trophy is a national award that recognizes one college football player in the country who best combines outstanding community service with athletic and academic achievement. Joel now travels the country and has spoken at over 500 schools and to nearly ONE MILLION people nationwide.
