We are thankful!

The past week in our classroom we have been discussing the topic of Thanksgiving.  We wrote stories about how we would make the Thanksgiving turkey if we were in charge of the Thanksgiving meal.  Those stories will be published in the Lyon County Reporter on Wednesday, November 23.  I sent a book with all the stories in it with each child.  I highly recommend you read them!  We also wrote an acrostic poem of all the things were are thankful for that started with the letters of the word THANKFUL.  Mr. Harman challenged the elementary students to bring 2 non-perishable food items to be donated to Mid Sioux.  My class went above and beyond bringing in a total of 96 items!  The students were so excited to give knowing it would be a blessing to someone else.  Our lesson this week was that no matter who we are or where we live, there is always something to be thankful for and to be a blessing to others.  Happy Thanksgiving from Room 109!
