Christmas Time Brings So Much Pleasure When You Have Good Friends To Treasure

Christmas time at school is always filled with joy and excitement, and the kids could hardly wait for the day of the party.  The anticipation was almost too much for them to bear, but the day finally arrived.

It was a fun afternoon filled with everything kids love: food, drinks, games, and presents.  The kids were divided into four groups for our party. The first group of kids enjoyed yummy frosted cupcakes decorated to look like the Grinch. Juice was provided, and the kids got to take home goodie bags filled with even more snacks.  While some of the kids ate, others had fun making ornaments to hang on their trees at home.  Take a look at the pictures to see the cute reindeer and trees they made with their very own hands!

The children had fun playing two games as they rotated about the room.  One game involved skill, while the other took a bit of luck.  The kids had to toss rings onto antlers in one of the games.  Tossing the rings was harder than it looked, but they had fun trying. A lot of happy giggles could be heard throughout the classroom.  The final game involved sticking a heart on the Grinch after being blindfolded and spun around.

The long awaited gift exchange was our last activity.  The children sat in two circles while  Amy F. read the story How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Every time the kids heard the word "Grinch" they had to pass their gift around the circle.  When the story was finished, the kids opened their presents, and they loved the gifts they received from each other.  Special thanks to Amy F., Kay W., Terri P., Larscina D., and Melissa M. for organizing the party, providing the treats, and preparing the games for the party.
