Catch the Reading Wave!
Every year students in grades TK – 4th at Central Lyon participate in a reading incentive program during the month of February. This year’s theme is “Catch the Reading Wave.” During the week of February 6 - 10, student were encourage to dress-up in beach apparel on his or her library day (no swimming suits, please).
Library Days:
Monday, February 6 – Kindergarten
Tuesday, February 7 – 3rd Grade
Wednesday, February 8 – 2nd Grade
Thursday, February 9 – 1st Grade and TK
Friday, February 10 – 4th Grade
Your child is bringing home a page of four bookmarks to record the number of minutes read at home each week. Reading does not need to be aloud and may include time read together with a parent or sibling. Please remember to write your child’s daily minutes and total minutes for the week. Your child’s form needs to have your signature on it and should be returned to school the following Monday. Those who return them promptly on Mondays will receive a small reward. Those who return all four throughout the month will be able to participate in our reading month finale. The last day for this program will be Monday, March 6th.
