3D Shapes in Kindergarten
Students in Mrs. Larson's kindergarten class got busy building 3-dimensional shapes using toothpicks and marshmallows. They started out building a triangle and from there a square. I then challenged them to use only the materials they had to build a cube. The students succeeded and had so much fun doing so. They also went on to build a pyramid. One of the students raised their hand to show me something else they had built and when I got there, they had figured out how to use their materials to make a triangular prism! Every student had fun completing this activity and it was fun to see how creative they could get! We look forward to many more 'hands on' projects coming up!
