Learning Division with M&M's
Fourth grade students used M&M's to begin learning how to divide with remainders. Students learned when a number cannot be divided evenly, the amount left over is called the remainder. So by using M&M's, they found out that when the dividend cannot be divided evenly by the divisor, there will be a remainder. Students also discussed what a quotient is. The best part of the lesson, everyone could eat their M&M's!
