High School PE World
What is new in the High School PE World?
It is that time of the year when the PE program makes that transition from outdoor classes and moves indoors for the winter months. It was a great fall and we were able to stay outside until the last part of October, which is nice because the winter can get long in the gym. We made the move indoors by taking advantage of volleyball season still going on by getting our volleyball unit in. That was followed by a couple of days of eclipse ball, which is a game that is played with racquets and a ball approximately 6 inches round called an eclipse ball, played on the volleyball net-which is quite challenging. We have also covered team handball, basketball and badminton the past few weeks.
Our upcoming units will be floor hockey and archery over the next few weeks. The students are working hard and every day is a challenge to improve on good sportsmanship, skill development and learning to work with a variety of teammates. One thing is for sure, we are never at a lack for intensity!
