Chess Club

A new extra-curricular activity, Chess club, was started in 2017 by students who were looking for a way to improve their chess playing skills. They meet once or twice a week during the last 14 minutes of the day (DEAR time), often on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meetings are supervised by Mrs. Haselhoff and are held in the high school media center.

There are all types of skill level chess players who have joined, from those that didn't know how to play to seasoned veterans. Chess is fun to play and it involves strategy. The students have really enjoyed playing each other and many have improved their chess playing skills.  Anyone in high school is welcome to join.
