Totem Poles-Writing/Art Project

After reading the novel Touching Spirit Bear in September, 8th graders completed an art/writing project.  Totem poles were created with spirit animals that reflected individual student's past, present, and future lives. Along with artistically creating a totem pole, students also wrote paragraphs for each spirit animal on their totem. Their paragraphs reflected how they possessed the same qualities as the spirit animals they chose. I love to see the artistic talent that comes through on these projects. The totem pictured was created by Madelyn Riibe. Great job, Madelyn!
