Meet Mrs. Bartels
Hi, I am Katie Bartels. I am very excited for the next two months of student teaching here at Central Lyon. Mrs. Boekhout's 2nd grade students have already shown me how excited they are to have me in the classroom. To tell you a little about myself, I was born and raised in Escondido, CA and am currently enrolled at Dordt University. This past summer I got married to Joseph Bartels. Let’s just say I enjoy being called Mrs. Bartels. Joseph graduated a semester early from Dordt and will be working during this semester. I am excited to gain experience at Central Lyon. My mom was a teacher for a few years and her love for teaching encouraged me to study Elementary Education. Wherever I end up teaching, I look forward to inspiring and influencing students in positive ways.
I am sure having Mrs. Boekhout as my teacher will help me know how to do that. I hope to have a great experience of learning and growth as I student teach at Central Lyon. I am very thankful to be in such a wonderful school filled with eager students. Following this placement, I will be finishing up my student teaching at Sioux Center Middle School teaching 8th grade English before graduating in May.
