February’s senior student of the month is a vital part of the fine arts program at Central Lyon. He plays trumpet in band and is a soloist in jazz band, which placed fourth at the 2011 State Jazz Competition and is on its way to another successful season this year. He participates in chorus and swing choir and was called back at the highly competitive state vocal try-outs this year. In addition, our February student of the month has been a four-year member of quiz bowl, large group speech, and International Club, as well as individual speech for two years. He has filled significant roles in the plays and musicals all four of his high school years. He is an academic leader consistently on the high honor roll while challenging himself with AP classes. He is a two year member of the National Honor Society and did an excellent job leading the induction ceremony as this year’s NHS president.
