General Information XC

That time of year has come again for kids to qualify for the state meet and every year the same questions are asked.

Q: How many teams and individuals qualify for the state meet? There are 4 classes that teams are divided into throughout the state 1a-2a-3a-4a boys and girls according to school enrollment. George-Little Central Lyon is classified in the 2a class for both the boys and girls.

A: Each class has 5 districts that are scattered about the state and at those sites the 3 top teams advance to the state making 15 teams for each class. This does not always guarantee that the best teams advance to the state meet because many times the states best can be in the same districts and easily can offset who qualifies.

Q: How many individuals qualify from each districts? At each of the 5 districts 10 individuals qualify and move on to the state meet on a qualifying team or as an individual
