Our April senior student of the month has enjoyed many successes on the athletic fields here at Central Lyon and as far away as the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls and Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  However, when he is not busy succeeding in athletics, he is proving to teachers and fellow students that he can be just as successful in the classroom.  Andrew's favorite class at Central Lyon is physics. While challenging himself through a rigorous academic schedule the last four years, Andrew Austin has set the perfect example for underclassmen to emulate. He participates in many extracurricular activities, being a member of the football, basketball, track, and baseball teams, as well as chess club, choir, and FCA. Andrew is part of the school-record time shuttle hurdle relay team and says the accomplishment he is most proud of is making it to the relays at Drake.
