Fall is our favorite!

Fall is my favorite season of the year.

There is nothing better than crisp mornings, warm coffee, comfy sweaters and fall activities in our classroom. During our fall season we do a lot of fun activities. This fall we accomplished a lot of great academic successes. We have adjusted to being in kindergarten and are loving every minute of it. Our favorite unit so far this fall was Stone Soup. This is an excellent and classic story about working on our character trait of working together. We read 5 different Stone Soup titles and worked through our story elements, focusing on comparing and contrasting these stories. At the end of the week we made our own Stone Soup and did a little taste testing to celebrate what we had learned. We also had a great time at our Halloween party this year. So many awesome story book costumes. We went for a parade around school and had a blast at our first PTC hosted classroom party! Miss Emily the naturalist came to visit and taught us everything we needed to know about Bats and we even pretended to be scary monsters as well. What a great start to the year so far!
