Boys' Basketball Recap - Record Book

The 2018-19 boys' basketball season had many ups and downs but overall the year was the start of things to come.  With a change to the style of play and having all the kids from grades 9-12 learn a different style there was bound to be bumps in the road.  Overall I thought we got great leadership from our seniors and would like to thank them for the last four years of dedication to the program.  They have created a positive change in our program and their leadership will serve as a springboard for what I hope are great things to come for the boys.

Overall the team did make good strides even with the growing pains of a new system.  We finished the 5-18 which was an improvement of 3 games from the year before.  We had several kids who played well enough to scatter their names through the record book for various categories.  This year provided lots of growth and experience for the entire team.  We finished the year with the following kids earning varsity letters:  Zed Heimensen, Kaden Huisman, Tanner VandenTop, Austin Metzger, Kade Griesse, Zach Springer, Cole Hoogendoorn, Breyden Dieren, and Mason Gerleman.  Cooper Spiess came in towards the end of the season and was close to playing enough quarters to also earn a letter.

Along with the letters we had two athletes who garnered all-conference awards.  Zed Heimensen was named to the 3rd team while Kaden Huisman was named to the honorable mention team.  Both those kids had great years and I couldn't be happier for both of them.

Below you will find a link to our record book.  Over the past two years, we have been digitalizing the boxscores for every game played at Central Lyon dating back to the 1972-73 Season.  The record book below is a reflection of all the data we collected.  All the highlighted names are from players on this years team.  We could use your help in filling in missing information as there are some years we were missing information for.  The years we were missing are located on the first page and are in one of two categories: individual game stats and season stats.  If you, or someone you know, has any missing information we would love to have it so we can add it to our current data and make our record book a true reflection of Central Lyon basketball.  Please email me (bgerleman@centrallyon.org) if you can help with finding some of the missing information.  Thanks again and go lions!
