Lions After-School Program

The Central Lyon School District provides an after-school program for the students in grades 3-8 which began November 10. The “Lions” program works to help students with homework management and completion. The program runs from 3:15-4:30pm. Students in grades 3-4 meet on Tuesday/Thursday in room 118 and grades 5-8 on Tuesday/Thursday in rooms 111/113 at the elementary school. On Wednesdays students in grades 5-8 can attend from 2:30- 4:00 in the HS Media Center with support staff. Central Lyon is also offering Wednesdays for students who do need somewhere to stay before any practices begin. Snacks are provided each day.

Mrs. Van Aartsen is the program director for grades 3-4; and Mr. Jansma and Mrs. Maxwell are the program directors for grades 5-8. Both programs follow this daily schedule: 

  •  3:10 – 3:20: Meet in assigned rooms (118 for grades 3-4; 111/113 for grades 5-8), use the restroom and get ready for our program, a snack will be served to the students who attend each day.
  • 3:20 – 4:15: Homework completion. 
  • 4:25 – 4:30: Get ready to go home and start heading out the front door. 

 Students must be picked up at the front doors of the Elementary/Middle School Building at 4:30 p.m.

Supervision will not be provided after 4:30 p.m.

 If you are interested in having your child participate in the “Lions” After-School program, please download, print, and return the completed form to the elementary office or home room teacher.
