FLL Challenge - Superpowered!

Students visit Lyon Rural Electrical Cooperative.

A group of middle school students have formed three teams at Central Lyon and are planning on competing in the FLL Regional Tournament in Sioux Falls in January. During the season, the students will prepare and present engineering projects, build a number of robots and robot arm prototypes, program the robots to solve different missions, compete with other area teams, and learn about this year’s FLL Challenge, named “Superpowered.” Team members are learning about electricity production, storage, and distribution, as well as how to work with each other in the engineering design process. The students have met with professionals at DGR, Lyon Rural Electric Cooperative, and Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities, and are busy accomplishing all of the tasks by January. Go Lions!
