Art History Artists Role Play
8th Grade Art History
Students in 8th grade came to art for the month of May. They did an art history / artist role play activity, where they chose a famous artist to research. They designed an artwork inspired by their chosen artist's work, and then presented their art and art history research to the second grade classes. To add some fun the 8th graders also dressed up somewhat like their famous artists when they presented to the younger kids.
Over all, the 8th graders said they learned a lot and that they appreciated learning in a way that was so much more fun that listening to lectures. The students did amazing work, and their presentations were great. The 2nd graders had a wonderful time as well.
