Four Artists Chosen for Youth Art Month Show

YAM

Korryn Christensen (5th Grade) Emma Baker (6th Grade) CJ Mayo (1st Grade) Brody Hartter (TK)

Congratulations to a number of Central Lyon elementary and middle school students who entered artworks in the juried Youth Art Month (YAM) art show.  The judges chose works from four of our CL entries: Emma Baker (6th grade), Korryn Christensen (5th grade), CJ Mayo (1st grade), and Brody Hartter (TK).  These four artists will have their work on display for the month of March, which is Youth Art Month, at the State Historical Building in Des Moines.  From all of the 200+ YAM pieces on display, the Governor will choose 10 – 12 pieces to put on display for one week at his office in the capitol building.

The artists whose work was selected will be honored for their achievements on March 5 with an awards ceremony, snacks, and other fun activities.  The reception is at the State Historical Building and starts at 12:30.  The awards ceremony begins at 1:30.  Family and friends are invited to attend with their honored artist.  The artists’ work will be returned on April 25 at school.
