The 2nd grade students have been learning about the importance of conservation and the role that trees and healthy soils play in it. In Art class, with Mrs. Hoppe, they have been working on creating their own watershed pictures to show this. These pictures were submitted to a contest the Lyon County Soil & Water Conservation office was having. Michelle Timmer and Lindsey Forbis came to announce Emeila S. as the winner. They also awarded the entire class with a pizza party and pop. The Conservation representatives also gave each child a Common Purple Lilac to take home and plant in their yard. Thank you, Mrs. Hoppe and the Lyon County Soil and Water Conservation office for the wonderful surprises.
