Student Teachers
Central Lyon has student teachers from Dordt gaining experience in high school classrooms.
Cheneg Vander Berg is working with Mr. Docker in educating grades 10-12. He is from Sioux Center and is majoring in Secondary Education and History. Mr. Vander Burg says the thing he enjoys most about student teaching at Central Lyon is "sharing my love of history with students and working toward goals with them, utilizing what they are passionate about as a guide." Mr. Vander Berg enjoys spending time outdoors, which includes sports, farming, and biking.
Eric Van Veldhuizen has been a student teacher for the entire semester in Mr. Engel's Industrial Tech classes. Mr. Van Veldhuizen is from Rock Valley, where he is an assistant coach for the Rock Valley Clay Crushers. He is also a member of the Dordt University Trapshooting Club. He has already secured a job next year at our neighbor district and his hometown Rock Valley.
