FCCLA
There's a new student organization this year! As a CTE (Career and Technical Education) teacher Mrs. Christensen has organized a student organization to provide an opportunity for students to grow and to compete using skills learned in Family and Consumer Sciences. All CTE teachers in the state of Iowa will be required to offer a student organization by the 2024-2025 school year. Because FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) provides awesome opportunities for students to grow and learn, she has decided to get a chapter established as soon as she could.
At regional and state meetings FCCLA members meet students from across the state while learning about career opportunities within the human services field. They also learn about ways to better their community. FCCLA has so many possibilities. High school students have an opportunity to create a project to help younger students as they see fit. Each year students will be able to identify their own project to put their talents and skills to work in a way to help others. This may be through career exploration, entrepreneurship, or service work for people of all ages.
