3/16/23 - Press Release

The Central Lyon Community School District has been informed by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) that a non-district employee, who has had interactions with students, is the subject of an ongoing investigation. The safety of the students at Central Lyon is taken extremely seriously, and these allegations are considered severe. The district is cooperating with the DCI and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, and the individual under investigation no longer has access to students or school facilities. We know that our entire school community is as stunned as we are by this news. The district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and cannot comment any further on the pending investigation. We will do everything possible to keep our students’ safety, needs, and education first and foremost.

The Central Lyon Community School District offers career and technical programs in the following areas of study: Business Education, Family & Consumer Sciences Education, Industrial Arts Education and Vocation Agriculture Education.
