MS Marching Band travels to Sioux Falls for Festival of Bands!

On Saturday, October 5th, the middle school marching band will be traveling to Sioux Falls, SD for the Festival of Bands.  The Central Lyon MS Band will compete against 2 other MS Bands in parade competition.  There will also be several high school bands competing in their own high school division.  This is a NEW event for the MS Marching Band!

Middle School Band students will need to be at school no later than 7:30am. This will insure time to load the buses and leave by 7:45am.  The parade runs North down Main Ave in downtown Sioux Falls.  The parade begins at 8:45am and we are scheduled to march at 10:15.  This is a VERY large parade so please plan ahead to find seating for the parade and parking in downtown Sioux Falls!  I have included a parade route and band order at the bottom of this page for you to view and/or print out.  There will also be $5 programs for sale on Saturday during the parade.

After we complete the parade, we will be instructed to immediately load the buses and leave downtown.  We will bring the students to Howard Wood Field where several high school bands will be competing in field show competition.  Students will have an opportunity to watch these performance and get food/drink from the concessions.  Please bring money for this!

If you plan on bringing you student home, you should meet us by the Central Lyon buses at Howard Wood after we complete the parade.  Students must check out with me before they are allowed to leave!

The buses will return to school around 1:30pm - allowing for traffic. 

All students have been given an information letter regarding this event.  All letters need to be signed by a parent and the bottom portion of the letter returned to Mrs. Deutsch by Friday.  

This marching season has been truly AMAZING!  This final event promises to be EXCITING!  I encourage any family and friends to come out and support their MS Marching Band as they compete in Sioux Falls!
