International Club

The International Club held its first meeting on October 17. Students played the game Loteria - a Mexican game similar to BINGO.

To play Loteria, there must be at least three (3) players, with each player using a "tabla" or "carta" (Bingo card) marked with images from Mexican folk art. One person, known as "el griton" - or the yeller - draws a card from a deck that has images of the folk art and announces the image while using humor, puns, and rhymes to describe the card. The object is to cover your "carta" images vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or entirely. To learn more about the game, go to the website Modern Mexican.

Winners on Tuesday picked prizes and enjoyed a variety of candy from across the globe.

Senora Steven is the sponsor of the International Club. Any student interested in joining the club should contact her to learn more about the organization.
