Welcome to 4th Grade!

Hello Kindergarten families and friends! My name is Mrs. Metzger; I started teaching Kindergarten at Central Lyon in 2018 and transferred to 4th grade in 2021. I am originally from Ellsworth, MN and graduated college from South Dakota State University (Go Jacks!) in May 2018 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a certificate in Elementary Education. My husband Brendan and I live in Rock Rapids. He is an electrical engineer at DGR Engineering and also graduated from SDSU. We have a mini goldendoodle named Magnolia (Maggie) whose favorite activity is walking the streets of Rock Rapids. If you see us around, be sure to say 'Hi!'

Teaching is one of my greatest joys in life and I love watching children grow throughout the year. I strive for my classroom to be a safe and positive environment for all students and want to make sure that each student feels valued and loved.
