Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
We love a good reason to celebrate and this week we had plenty! For starters, we reached the 100th day of this school year and are officially 100 days smarter! We also love an opportunity for a fun dress-up day, so the students were encouraged to dress as if they were 100 years old or wear '80's gear as we count down the last 80 days of school. They could also wear baseball jerseys as we anticipate summer break and baseball games, too. Hot diggity-dog! You will see in our photos that my students really knocked this dress-up day out of the park!
We also reached our classroom PBIS goal this month by earning enough paw prints to have a beach party! Woohoo! Once again, students really went all out and let their traveling tourist, summer vibes shine while relaxing on Boekhout's Beach. While vacationing today, Ms. Kara met up with us to share her cool Ag lesson about cattle. We surprised her by singing happy birthday and giving her a sash to wear so everyone knows it's her special day. She always makes learning science so much fun! As you can probably tell, it definitely felt like it was 80 degrees and sunny with all of the laughter and smiles in our classroom today. Next month, we will be working on earning a Read and Feed! For now though, it's time to catch our flight (bus) home as we head back out in to the cold reality of winter weather here in Iowa.
Keep shining bright, sweet 2nd graders! I love celebrating you!
